In a large Big Brother move, the mayor of the city of Houston has issued subpoenas to some pastors to turn over sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or the mayor herself, Annise Parker, who is the city’s first openly lesbian mayor.
Any ministers who fails to comply could be held in contempt of court.

As a minister myself, I don’t like this any more than the rest of you do. It definitely sets a very scary precedent. However, these clergy found themselves in a situation where they intentionally became members of a law suit (filing suit against the Mayor) and in doing so, opened themselves up publically to the laws of discovery and casting off the veil of privacy commonly afforded members of the clergy. As a defendant in a law suit, the mayor, or her attorney, has every right make that request in the interest of knowing/discovering what lead up to the law suit. My advice to clergy. if you want to keep your rights and your sermons private, be very careful how far you take them public! Separation of Church and State only works when we keep the two SEPARATE!
Houston will bet what Huston deserves.
The commies are everywhere
That’s a weird looking guy
WHAT A BITCH!
Someone aught to send her the Constitution, then sit down and read it to her.
Let see, I believe that it is against the law for her to do this. I am betting that no pastor will comply with this sham of an order.
When your rights infringe on mine, you will have a problem. I will die for what I believe in, will you!
Typical left wing s**t!!!
Tell her to take her subpoenas in the bathroom and use them for what they’re good for.
