At a Home Depot, in Spokane Valley in Washington State, a Veteran was at the register and politely asked for his Vet discount, showing his Veteran ID. The young man at the register told him that Home Depot does not “do that anymore”. The Veteran asked to speak with management, over comes an entitled type mentality manager, who is rude.
He tells the Veteran that “Corporate is tightening up on those type things.” Luckily, a good Patriot was in line behind the Vet, and when told to go to another line, he said “I’ll just stay here to see what happens”.

Will NEVER SHOP there!!!
I can tell you this, LOWES does give veteran discounts because they support us,and appreciate the sacrifice we have done. Lowe’s is a better store with more knowledgeable workers. Shop Lowes, and force another depot to close! I will not shop there even if it means it will cost me more!
He should go to Lowes!
That`s just disgusting to every treat any veteran with disrespect. We`d have no freedom`s if it wasn`t for them.
As a current Home Depot employee this bothers me. It seems to me that this store was having an issue with markdowns so the manager took it in his own hands to deny. The rule is if they ask and have proper ID they get the discount. There are certain things that corporate has blocked from discounts but that is mostly types of drywall and lumber. But there are other programs if they spend enough to get a lower price. Thankful I have a store manager that caters to the veterans!!!
I NO longer shop at Home Deport I go to Lowes
If I were this Vet, I’d leave this store, kick the dirt/dust off my feet and never return to this store and definitely spread the word. I get the discount, but have had trouble with HD in the past, too much, so I now shop at Lowes and get the same Vet discount.
No one should buy anything from Home Depot SHOP AT LOWES
while they bend to islam……LOWES ALL THE WAY!!!!
Home Deot does not have a Veteran’s Discount. They do however offer a Military discount which applies to active duty, reserves, retired military (have a Mil ID that is NOT expired) & disabled veterans (VA card must say “Service Connected” under the picture) those are the forms of ID that are eligible for the everyday 10% off. Other then that they accept all other forms of military ID on 4th of July, Memorial Day & Veteran’s Day for a 10% discount
I get a veteran discount (10%) every time I go into Home Depot and Lowes. All I have to do is show my VA Service Connected Disability id. So to the guy “Just stating facts”, you got it wrong, Bud.
Home Depot Management should be ashamed of themselves, OUR VETERANS SERVED for OUR FREEDOM’S, GIVE THEM A FRICKEN DISCOUNT!!!! Bitches!!!!
