At a Home Depot, in Spokane Valley in Washington State, a Veteran was at the register and politely asked for his Vet discount, showing his Veteran ID. The young man at the register told him that Home Depot does not “do that anymore”. The Veteran asked to speak with management, over comes an entitled type mentality manager, who is rude.
He tells the Veteran that “Corporate is tightening up on those type things.” Luckily, a good Patriot was in line behind the Vet, and when told to go to another line, he said “I’ll just stay here to see what happens”.
see what actions we can take to help the Vet next page
Glad to here at least part of this great country is getting the what the vets deserve
I don’t buy this one for a second..more than likely this vet didn’t have one of the ID’S that are approved by corporate. There are rules everywhere in life. Being a veteran, doctor, white, black or green doesn’t preclude one from following them.
Bruce…you are correct..and to be fair corporate has sent out a list of ” approved” IDs that can be used for the discount…
This must be a local anomally. Probablt a traitorous employee.
good info Dusty, Thanks !!
Stopped shopping at Home Depot a long time ago for that reason
Hasn’t happened in Colorado
I do IT service for the HD stores in my area. The management and many of the employees are some of the meanest and rudest people you will ever meet.
As a veteran myself and Home Depot employee, home depot has a list of Veterans ID cards we accept. I seen some customers that are rude when asking for it. I didn’t join the military for discounts or recognition. Some stores do it but they don’t have to. Is frustrating when some veterans fell they are entitled to discounts of free stuff. What will happen when stores stop doing all together. Walmart or target don’t give discounts so that means you don’t shop there.
I would like more information before I can make a call on this!
