The debate over to whom children ultimately belong is one that has been growing in intensity for some decades. It’s actually not all that new, as governments have argued for greater or lesser control over the children within their jurisdictions for millennia. It just so happens that we’ve been in an era of bigger government, hence the desire by some in government to usurp parents’ rights and responsibilities has grown.
Hillary Clinton inserted herself into the debate years ago, asserting that it “Takes a Village” to properly raise a child as she pronounced in her book. This is the leftist position she maintains and continues to promote. Raising children is ultimately up to the government, she avers, as though anyone with his or her children’s best interests at heart would want them to grow up to be like the Clintons.
But it’s not just Hillary who is on the wrong side of this issue. There are many in academia who are proposing similar theories. Pushed to the extreme, it become a policy of either raise your kids within government guidelines, or the government will seize them and raise them for you.
More on where this trend is going is on page two.
Children are loaned to us by GOD. The gov. Should butt out of all aspects….except abuse.
Britain is a second tier nation now. They cannot determine between right and wrong these days. They will never recover from the Islamic revolution that exist in Britain. I put no stock in what this guy said as soon as I say he was British. Sorry
The essence of Hillary’s ‘It Takes a Village’ c**p.
Everybody belongs to themselves. Until a certain age, their parents are responsible for their well being.
More media lies, need to ban this site
Brainwashng tactics.
So parents are just livestock?
Cildren belong to the God who made them. He has given the responsibility of training and caring for them to their parents. Not the state or government.
A famous poet wrote “Your children are not your children.” My mother loved this poem; my mother in law hated it. I believe we are all Gods children ultimately. Some parents try to over ride a child’s destiny. So the poet writes to remind us that our children come to us for a reason but not necessarily to be cookie cutters of their parents. The love of a parent child can never be broken. And it is hard to watch your own flesh and blood make what you believe to make a mistake. But the young must explore and learn for a world that will be different than their parents world. Both ideas are correct. Your children are yours and the love you share binds you forever. The poet is also correct. The child is born to fulfill its own mission and its own destiny.
Can you imagine some of these democrats raising children. Government shoukd gaven mo say so as to who raises our children. They stick their nose into things that is none of their business.
