Jeff Gray, a long time activist in recording police, has recently released a video showing how he got through DUI checkpoints without saying a word.
His novel idea was to hang a plastic bag outside his rolled up window with the following:
1 – A message stating:
I remain silent
No searches
I want my lawyer
2 – DriverĀ“s license
3 – Registration
4 – Insurance Information
How did police respond upon his pulling up to the checkpoints with this bag hanging outside his car?

There have been many comments on this thread, Mr. Gotti. To whom is your question asked?
All police check pionts are a violation of your civil rights…learn the law .
Agreed. 100%
Some are willing to give up their Liberty (i.e. Freedom) because they have nothing to hide. I have nothing to hide, but very little Freedom left. We have to draw a line in the sand somewhere.
What some of you don’t understand is that driving isn’t a right, its a privilege. One that can be regulated and $#%&!@*essed.
That’s always the argument to not exercise your rights, “if you have nothing to hide, than just be submissive and don’t exercise your rights”… We have a Bill of Rights for a reason.
Yes, driving is a privilege. But just because you are driving a car, doesn’t mean you don’t have the same rights as if you were walking to not be illegally detained without do cause.
If there is no reason to suspend my “privilege”, then there’s no reason to stop and har$#%&!@* me. Checkpoints are a violation of my rights. As we get closer and closer to living in a communist state, we need to stand up for our rights, whether we’re walking, sitting in our home, riding a bicycle, or doing a handstand. Give me Liberty, or give me death. Guess what, if you’re STOPPED at a checkpoint, you’re not driving. Driving is when the vehicle is in motion. I guess being detained is a privilege as well…..
I’ve been stopped several times for speeding. I’m usually stopped with my window all the way down before they even get their lights on and car turned around. Rarely do I get a ticket. That is a good example of when it’s ok to “regulate and $#%&!@*ess” my privilege. NOT just at random, stopping me and everyone else on the same roadway for no reasonable cause.
Stupid.
