George Lopes thinks that the government should be deporting the police, not illegal immigrants, if they want to make the streets safer.
The comedian posted the controversial comment on Instagram over the weekend and has since made his account private, likely due to negative backlash from fans who are telling him to “stick to comedy.”
“The Trump administration is deporting Latinos to make the streets safer,” Lopez wrote. “You wanna make the streets safer deport the police!”
Lopez’s statement angered many — but none more than one Hispanic police officer who encountered Lopez at a show several years ago. He responded to Lopez online:
“Hispanic police officer along with my wife, I have served 16 years, my wife 10. I have a younger sister half Hispanic and black and she served 7 as a police officer,” the man wrote. “I paid to meet you two years ago at the Majestic Theater in San Antonia. I remember being excited in getting to meeting a Hispanio I was proud of. You found out my wife and I were police, joked by assuming position against the wall. We were escorted out, my sister was in line behind us kept quiet after a comment was made when my wife and I left, about police.”
Attacking the police must be easy from whatever high-end neighborhood Lopez currently resides. If Lopez got his way, he wouldn’t be the one paying the price. Instead, his base of low-income Hispanics would be the ones getting killed on the streets by unchecked crime.

July 12, 2018… Regarding: Profound Jokes. by Comedian George Lopez
Dear brother and comedian George Lopez,
Most reasonable people do know and fully understand exactly the solemn place from where your “deport the police” joke is coming from and the underlying profound message it portrays. And just because some police officer (who was attending one of your shows as a member of your audience) walked out of your show for the alleged reason that the police officer was apparently offended by another one of your “police” jokes (of assuming your position against the wall) is a clear indication that such people serving as police officers are egotistically, emotionally, and psychologically impaired and mentally disturbed… and therefore this example of the police officer’s mental “inability” to properly cope with your “police” joke actually demonstrates precisely why there’s more “truth” than ‘jest’ to the underlying profound meaning of your “deport the police” joke.
I mean really…? If a police officer in his private capacity who is attending one of your comedy shows as an audience member is unable to take your “police” jokes lightly with a grain of salt and not so literally, then how is that police officer emotionally capable of dealing with much more delicate situations arising out on the public streets involving interactions between police officers and the public?
Not to generalize or to stereotype people serving as police officers… but after seeing so many YouTube incidences involving interactions with police officers having gone wrong and in some cases inappropriately crossing the line on the side of “way-wrong” on the part of the police officer’s misconduct… there must be a more effective way to vet Police Officers for the purpose of verifying their psychological aptitudes prior to authorizing them to occupy a public office where they are to be held accountable at the highest standard for their responsibility of serving and protecting the public?
Just because a man or a woman is authorized to wear a badge, a police uniform, and to carry a firearm does not authorize that person (police officer) whatsoever to unjustifiably abuse the right to happiness, health, liberty, and life of any person whatsoever.
Wising abundant divine blessings of happiness, health, love, and peace equally to “ALL”.

Go back to Mexico and try to live on what you make.
Ok let them kill a loved one of yours, or break into your home. I’ll bet you’ll call the police then, your an idiot George Lopez !
No more burritos for you amigo
If you don’t like our police be sure you call an immigrant if you ever need help. Also, if you want to live with the immigrants, including the many law breaking ones that try to enter the U.S. I’m sure they would open the border for you to LEAVE!
Who really cares about a washed up comedian. He’s irrelevant and should be deported . He’s a hateful, angry frustrated Hollyweird jackass washed up celebrity desperate for attention. He should leave our country and go back where he came from. Deport him now.
