This video details how to make a super-efficient water heater thermo siphoning process. Not only are all the parts he uses cheap or free discards, the project does not need electricity or solar power.
To match this video you will need:
Copper Tubing
Stove Pipe
Water heater
Valves
And of course, water and something to burn.
See the process video after the break and then get started on your own source of endless hot water:
Our Boyscout troop made one similar back in the late Seventy’s. Only we used a thick nylon barrel and about twenty feet of coiled copper and just built a fire on the ground under the coil . Hot water for washing dishes and showers .
You could build an ember based hot bed set up and put your pipe through that too, for camping.
I did exactly the same thing, but in reverse for a cold water misting station for the summer concerts on base. Ran my coil in a cooler full of ice water with ice cream salt in it and hooked it to a hose at one end and a plant watering misting system at the other. Worked like a champ as long at the water was flowing. Shut It off and the coils would freeze up.
This post is getting old. See it every couple days sometimes twice a day.
I want to try this one out. I live in a quake prone area. This would be a nice way to use that stove. I must be a prepper to want something like this.
If you dont like seeing the post unlike it
he basically made a tankless water heater
The Church in Hebron Nebraska where I ministered, had a water heater like this for the Baptistery. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t up to current code, but it sure did heat the water.
Would be easier to have a separate tank for the cold water feed so that you could access the hot water from this tank through the drain.
Also doubles as a thumper
