Four-Year-Old Sentenced to Life in Prison For An Alleged Murder Committed When He Was One

His name was accidentally added to a list with 115 defendants, all of whom were given life sentences for crimes committed in 2014 in a Cairo court.  “Egyptian scales of justice are not reversible,” said Ahmed’s defense attorney, Faisal al-Sayd.  This child’s life is effectually over because of the mistake.

“There is no justice in Egypt!” as a four-year-old boy, whose name was accidentally put on a list of criminals who had been given life sentences, has been convicted of murder, attempted murder, threatening soldiers and police and vandalizing property, all at the ripe old age of almost two.

“The child Ahmed Mansour Karni’s birth certificate was presented after state security forces added his name to the list of accused, but then the case was transferred to the military court and the child was sentenced in absentia in an ensuing court hearing.

“This proves that the judge did not read the case”.

He said: “The Egyptian scales of justice are not reversible. There is no justice in Egypt. No reason. Logic committed suicide a while ago. Egypt went crazy. Egypt is ruled by a bunch of lunatics.”

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has ruled Egypt by a military dictatorship, since Mohammed Morsi’s government was ousted in 2013.
