Conjure up enough doomsday scenarios and you should be able to ruin your ability to sleep for weeks. We live in a world of uncertainty. Perhaps in some aspects that’s essential. For example, if everyone knew the day and time of his or her death, behavior would change so radically that one is drawn to consider whether society could even function. In fact, it could be argued that it will always be impossible to know such information, as its knowledge would mean people would have the opportunity to change a certainty — an obvious absurdity.
But the fact that bad things can happen does motivate people to do rational things such as buy insurance, do some prepping, or take precautions. Yet most of us realize that there are some possible calamities for which we can do nothing from a physical nature to prepare.
At least most of us can do nothing. However, there are those whose worth is measured in the billions of dollars who can do some very extraordinary things to survive some very extraordinary calamities, assuming surviving such mega-disasters is even worth it given what life might be like on the other side of the catastrophe.
A look at what they are up to is on page two.
LOL. You do realize that the Rocky Mountain depicted here is well over 5,000 feet to 10,000 feet in elevation right. No flooding there.

As in the words of Julius Ceasar, “Fools die many times before their death, but the hero never taste of death but once.”
