The National Science Foundation, an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950, has started funding research into ‘body antennas’. These are high frequency antennas permanently implanted under the skin for the stated purpose of “long-term patient monitoring.”
The NSF is working in collaboration with the National Research Foundation of Korea on this project, which began June 1st, 2015.
These antennas would be capable of much more than simply monitoring a patient’s vitals…
