Newly released documents by the The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration details a plan by the federal government to mandate a vehicle-to-vehicle communication system so in all new cars that will transmit your speed, position and trajectory.
The Washington Post states that this system could prevent half a million accidents a year, however many worry that the government will use the system to spy on citizens and track their movements. The same federal government that already spies on us and the rest of the world through the NSA says ‘don’t worry, we won’t do that’.

ford has had “black boxes” in them for years now most cars have them it them– insurance companies love them– so it wouldn’t surprise me that the government can track you– gm has “onstar” in it and they can find you just about anywhere even if you think it’s off by not subscribing to it and from what I understand you’d have to dismantle the vehicle to remove it
Amazing how government stats are always skewed. The stats assume everyone is driving a new car with the V2V technology. They also assume that the technology will never fail. Really? Look at the number of GPS accidents and the number of massive recalls on cars due to technology glitches/malfunctions.
