Even though Wal-Mart is a colossal money maker, it barely pays it’s workers enough to live comforably, forcing employees to go on food stamps, Medicaid and other social welfare programs.
Wal-Mart pulls in $36 million dollars per hour – being the largest seller of food in the world. Yet, they don’t take care of their employees.
Through your tax dollars you are, in essence, handing a Wal-Mart cashier your money but not even getting so much as an empty bag in return.

I know 2 walmart employees, one of whom trains interns. She is a very compassionate person and her employees are treated well
The transition from working a minimum wage job to earning enough to be self-sufficient (not needing government assistance) is huge. Market pressures force retailers to offer goods at low profit margins, in order to remain competitive. Therefore, employee incomes are restrained by market pressures. This is true generally. There is no easy fix for this.
Make any worker to pay for insurance… see how many part time jobs there are . Put all on even playing field… McDonald’s, Burger King, and a lot of these places .
Why
Walmart does not deserve a dime of taxpayer money. They make billions and they should be a self sufficient company. Time to cut government from these big companies.
Looks like Wal-Mart makes 1-2 percent profit, about the same as most grocery stores.
Gail I don’t suppose you have some sort of Audio or Video of the late Same Walton specifically saying that jobs at his stores aren’t meant to support a family do you?? 🙂

Well lets look at it this way these people are at least working I object to those who live on the system all their lives teach their children the same, go to the welfare office for a day see how many speak no english, those who did not get an education or didn’t want one refugees these are the ones you should be pissed at by the way I am 70 and working
