FBI Seizes Destroyed Hard Drives from Former DNC Aid

Pakistani-born Imran Awan, former right-hand aid and IT assistant to former DNC Chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is under investigation.

FBI agents seized smashed computer hard drives from the home of Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s information technology (IT) administrator, according to two sources with knowledge of the investigation

An additional source in Congress with direct knowledge of the case, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the probe, confirmed that the FBI has joined what Politico previously described as a Capitol Police criminal probe into “serious, potentially illegal, violations on the House IT network” by Imran and three of his relatives, who had access to the emails and files of the more than two dozen House Democrats who employed them on a part-time basis.

Capitol Police have also seized computer equipment tied to the Florida lawmaker.

And apparently, corruption is a family affair in the Awan household,

Awan’s younger brothers, Abid and Jamal, his wife, Hina Alvi, and Rao Abbas, Imran’s best friend, are also under investigation. There have been no arrests in the case.

A House IT staffer at the center of a congressional computer equipment scandal has been arrested by federal officials and charged with bank fraud, Fox News has learned.

Fox News is told officers and agents from the U.S. Capitol Police, the FBI and Customs and Border Protection were involved in the arrest of Imran Awan at Dulles International Airport.

Awan, 37, of Virginia, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to one count of bank fraud during his arraignment in federal court in Washington, D.C. He was released but will have to wear a GPS monitor and abide by a curfew.

Authorities also have looked into IT workers putting sensitive House information on the “cloud” and potentially exposing it to outside sources

You don’t smash serves and hard drives if you’ve committed no crimes. You don’t keep employees after finding out they’ve been double billing the House for electronics and routers like Wasserman Schultz did with Awan after finding out they’re crooks scamming the government if you’re an honest person, which Wasserman Schultz is not. Guess what she did instead after finding out Awan was a criminal? She said welcome to the family and introduced him to Hillary. That is no joke. The 2nd part is how it went down.

And furthermore, you don’t try to flee the country if you’ve done nothing wrong…

Fox News is told that federal officials arrested Awan at Dulles airport in suburban Virginia as he was “trying to leave the country.”

Just this morning RNC Chair, Ronna Romney McDaniel shared that former DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) dealings with former IT staffer Imran Awan is clear textbook obstruction that impaired national security.

McDaniel said, “We have to get to the bottom of this, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz has obstructed at every level, on something that affects, potentially our national security. So to have this gentlemen try and leave the country yesterday, and now we know there’s bank fraud, and we know he destroyed these hard drives and when you talk to — when you read the story about the Marine that found them in the apartment he was trying to rent. I mean, it’s a long story, but it’s something we have to get to the bottom of. We’re not hearing the Democrats talk about it at all. Where’s Debbie Wasserman Schultz? And we also need to know why DNC never turned over their hard drive to the FBI to review it as to their hacking.”
