Owners Cynthia and Robert Gifford of the Liberty Ridge Farm in New York have been fined $13,000 for refusing to host a gay wedding.
The Gifford’s host approximately 12 weddings at their farm per year, but refused to host one for a lesbian couple as they feel it would violate their religious beliefs.
But the New York State Division of Human Rights ruled that because the Liberty Ridge Farm is open to the public for specific events, like weddings, it must be classified as a “public accommodation.” This places the farm under a sexual orientation non-discrimination state ordinance.

ENOUGH OF THIS PC C**P !!!!!!!!!!!
A person should be able to service anyone they choose OR NOT CHOOSE and NOT be forced to do otherwise !!!!
This is very wrong. They have a right to refuse service to anyone. So the Media gets involded and then the courts force this. Shame, Shame on the court and the Judge.
Thats bullcrap ! Its also a travesty that someone can own a property through generations, and the “so called” govt. Can take it away, over a couple thousand in taxes !
Freedom of choice?
This is ridicules…America is a free country and they should have the right to serve who they please!!!!! WHO gets this $13,000?
charge them $100,000.00 and subcontract it out , if they bitch just tell them you had to hire someone else to do it because you had other commitments
Freda, you asked exactly what I wanted to know, who gets the money?????? Why would a couple want to get married in a place where they knew they weren’t welcome? It’s like they just wanted to cause trouble for this family.
SAD GROUP
would too. tell them to go some place else. it is my farm, not theirs.
NOT RIGHT
