Owners Cynthia and Robert Gifford of the Liberty Ridge Farm in New York have been fined $13,000 for refusing to host a gay wedding.
The Gifford’s host approximately 12 weddings at their farm per year, but refused to host one for a lesbian couple as they feel it would violate their religious beliefs.
But the New York State Division of Human Rights ruled that because the Liberty Ridge Farm is open to the public for specific events, like weddings, it must be classified as a “public accommodation.” This places the farm under a sexual orientation non-discrimination state ordinance.

It should be any persons right to refuse service to anyone. We are supposed to respect Muslim religious practices but no one has to support our religious beliefs. If it goes against the farmers religion, it is their right to refuse.
This is terribly sad. How does a company be allowed for religious reasons to not pay for birth control, yet for the same religious reasons, are FORCED to go completely AGAINST all moral teachings and belief to allow an UNGODLY wedding. One speaketh out of one of side of mouth, with not only a forked tongue, but so full of twists and turns and doubles back upon itself. SO SICK SICK SICK .
They should have just told them their schedule was already booked up and didn’t have the the room on the schedule to accommodate them.
It’s like forcing the Amish to do a television show
I stand WITH the Giffords
If your gay, find a gay person that will host it. GOD and our beliefs come first over everything else. Our so called president and his socialist ideas will never fly. I will never buy it.
A business has no religious beliefs because its not alive.
Look where the money goes, and who gets it
They have the right to refuse who they want, to them the fine was worth it
They should have the right to decide who can and can not use their farm. It’s their business. These gays are getting out of control and think they can have it all their way without considering the owners rights.
