Donald Trump: An All-American Tale

TRUMP FACT #4:  TRUMP’S GRANDMOTHER WAS THE FIRST WOMAN TO FOUND A REAL ESTATE CORPORATION

Our president’s grandmother, Elisabeth Christ Trump, was the daughter of a vineyard owner and tinker in the old Kingdom of Bavaria.  When she was 22 years old, Frederick Trump, who had been away over the sea making a fortune in the gold rush of the northern territories in America and Canada, returned to his family dwelling across the street from the home of the Christs and proposed to her, against his mother’s wishes.

They moved to New York City and after losing her husband at the very early age of 49, she opted to stay in her new country.  After her son, Frederick, built his first house at the age of 15, she was informed that he was not of proper age to be working.  In an effort to make everything legal, she sent young Fred to school for carpentry and when he graduated, she created the E. Trump & Sons real estate and construction corporation, a highly controversial thing for a woman in 1927.

The corporation today, now known as the Trump Organization, is being run by her two great-grandsons, Eric and Donald, Jr. in the stead of their father, when he was elected president.
