Instead of dumping your used oil, why not use it for heating? You can burn all types of oil – gear, vegetable, engine, hydraulic, transmission, biodiesel, etc.
This heater/stove can be built easily with spare parts and provide you with heat without cost.
Burning the oil is better than porting it on the ground like most people do.
50+ years ago we were doing this.
neighbor used motor oil for heat in his garagr and died within 6 mo with cancer (just saying)
ohbamas epa, would not like this at all. good. i love to do anything to displease the marxist. just sayin
Produces..toxic fumes..cannot use indoors..you will be warm..but dead
Very cool idea for a work shed or garage!!!
In the “olden days” we had an outdoor stove or furnace where we could burn certain types of non-combustible trash. It was said it contributed to contamination and pollution, so it was outlawed. Since that time, this country has manufactured and contributed so much toxicants and pollutants to the atmosphere that the damage is irreversible. Climate control will never lessen or control pollution. The “Waste Oil Heater” mentioned looks more damaging to the ozone layer and the atmosphere than the “outdoor furnace” in the “olden days.” You cannot use this device indoors or in closed spaces. Is this one of the governments objectives to force taxpayers to pay millions more in funding and research for climate change? The government’s answer to climate control is the equivalent of taking one motor vehicle off the road so it does not pollute the entire state.
This is basically a version of a pot burner, the type that provided heat in older house trailers. With the correct amount of air to fuel, they work quite well. They were never really efficient, but they did the job.
If you can keep it from smoking , otherwise where I live the code bitch knocks on your door … lol I have a epa rated one now. Pre heats the oil and air and sprays the oil in a cone shape I it. No smoke what so ever. I wished I lived where I could build one like this..
When i was a kid we had a grudge that had an oil burning stove that was the warmest stove in town. Now the EPA would be all over them. There was a time when a lot of people used coal for heat every town had someone that supplied coal. EPA again.
