As you’ll see later in the video, this is not only cheap, but super simple to do yourself.
With 3 ingredients and about 15 minutes of your time you can make your own laundry detergent for only 20 cents a gallon.
Plus it won’t have any 1,4-Dioxane like much of the store-bought stuff, which even the EPA says is a ‘probable human carcinogen’.
So, you can file this under ‘money saving’, ‘survival tactics’ and ‘healthier living’ as well!

My daughter makes her own and saves tons!
Can you use this in a washer that you have to use soap that says HE?
I make the powdered one. Google it on Wellnessmama.com
Is this real ?
I use the same ingredients, however, I do not melt down Fels Naptha – just grate and mix all ingredients – I add lavender essential oil (found at health food stores) for additional fragrance and it makes the laundry room smell great! Use 1-2 T per load, but I dissolve it first in some hot water in a container, and then add – SO much easier!
does anyone but me think it’s a bad idea to do this with a small child they think it’s a game and might mix things that will do harm?
Not if you’ve taught them correctly!

Three Tablespoons of Borax–three of laundry Soda and two tablespoons of Blue Dawn in a gallon of water. two cups for a big load. Usually don’t even need to use softener. I’ve used this for a year–keep Tide for “spots” but otherwise use the homemade det. I’m still using from the same boxes of soda and Borax–and cost less than 4.00 each at Walmart.
