The warm summer months never last forever. Soon it’s time to look for a way to bring a little extra warmth into the home and this simple solar heater is a great project to do just that. It’s made of metal cans, steel or aluminum, and can produce a surprisingly strong and consistent airflow upwards of 140F.
Even on a heavy snow day you’re looking at somewhere around 75-85F.
Best of all, this simple project requires just a few common parts and many of them can simply be re-purposed from your regular recycling. Watch the project come together in the fully-detailed video on the NEXT PAGE:
Needs cans painted black, could not see if they were, insulate the output tube.
this stuff is cool. Ive made a rocket stove and a backpack stove which works great. Il have to make one of these
I’m shocked! After all the HVAC industry has done for you. This is heresy !
Great stuff
Aluminum dryer hose works great too
This might be a great addition for my motor home with a solar voltaic collector to power the fan.
Anyone ever hear of cabin fever? It’s not necessarily because u sit on ur butt inside all winter. It’s because the damn sun doesn’t come out for months at time. Waste time in Michigan. Except maybe spring & fall
‘Cause on a sunny day I need a 140° blast of hot air…
Dryer vent costs about nothing and wouldn’t involve the time these cans are going to take.
There’s heat in sub-Zero temp’s…The best source of heat is from the ground source drilling vertical loops deep down and either running air/water thru the loops to heat/cool a dwelling.
