The warm summer months never last forever. Soon it’s time to look for a way to bring a little extra warmth into the home and this simple solar heater is a great project to do just that. It’s made of metal cans, steel or aluminum, and can produce a surprisingly strong and consistent airflow upwards of 140F.
Even on a heavy snow day you’re looking at somewhere around 75-85F.
Best of all, this simple project requires just a few common parts and many of them can simply be re-purposed from your regular recycling. Watch the project come together in the fully-detailed video on the NEXT PAGE:
we are planning to build a couple also
You got the recipe Bill?
Great but I am concerned about the chemical liner in the cans. Ill try one and burn the cans out first
Great care must be paid in great attention and monitor closely. Since it may be too Efficient.
The electricity used by the fan is a wash , let the panel power itself, heat rises.
Scott William Johnson it’s not always about the money. But I’m glad you’re warm and comfortable:)
Easy to build!
My kids built this as a high school science project 15 years ago
Ok Jan A Groeteke-LaForest here is another one for you! Lol
Mine gets up to 120 and it’s free heat. Got a small solar fan to blow heat faster
