Seems like that would of taken a long time to do to be able to to drink water…What about a larger pill bottle,if you can find a larger lid,and more cotton balls? But valuable info.!!
If iodine is left in the bottle it will continue to break down and the fumes (which are corrosive) will leak through the plastic. This is why iodine (like “Potable Aqua”) is contained in glass bottles.
Not all purification tablets are created equal! Do your research when choosing chem tabs!

It’s called “make a damned distillery.” It’s not hard. Just takes a few spare parts from cars, or even plastic tubes and bottles. Just as long as where you’re applying heat is thick metal.
