Manipulate steel and make your own tools with this soup can forge, which heats up past 2000 degrees.
All the materials you need to make this very simple forge is:
– Soup can
– Plaster of Paris
– Sand
– Blow torch (Mapp gas, which burns hotter than regular propane, is best)
– A board
– A few nuts, bolts, washers and a couple L brackets

Everything can burn

Mapp gass is way too expensive for this application, imho. I made my forge using a bunch of firebricks and one of those propane weed burners from harbor freight ($20.) It uses the 20 lb propane tanks, and you will end up spending a lot less on fuel compared to using the little bottles that attach to blow torches. Using this bigger system you can do much larger forging, melt aluminum, really the sky is the limit.
