This past Friday DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson stated at the United States Conference of Mayors that the approximately 11 million people who are in the country illegally have “earned the right to be citizens.”
“An earned path to citizenship for those currently present in this country is a matter of, in my view, homeland security to encourage people to come out from the shadows,” said Johnson.
“It is also, frankly, in my judgment, a matter of who we are as Americans,” he said, “to offer the opportunity to those who want to be citizens, who’ve earned the right to be citizens, who are present in this country–many of whom came here as children–to have the opportunity that we all have to try to become American citizens.”
So the Dept of Homeland ‘Security’ doesn’t want to ‘secure’ our borders, surprised?
Speaking at the United States Conference of Mayors on Friday, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said the approximately 11 million people who are in the country illegally have “earned the right to be citizens.”
“An earned path to citizenship for those currently present in this country is a matter of, in my view, homeland security to encourage people to come out from the shadows,” said Johnson, in what he remarked was one of his first public speeches since being confirmed as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) chief in December.
Here’s an obvious question: How exactly did illegal immigrants “earn” their right to be citizens? Their first act on American soil was breaking the law and they have continued to break the law every moment they’ve been here. Many of them broke the law again by faking a Social Security number. Many of them either didn’t pay taxes at all or lied on their taxes to get earned income tax credits they didn’t deserve. They go to emergency rooms and get “free” health care they don’t pay for; their kids go to schools they don’t pay taxes on; they collect welfare and food stamps to give to kids who should have never been in our country either; they take jobs that would have otherwise gone to American citizens while they drive down wages — but, they deserve citizenship?
What illegal aliens actually DESERVE is deportation, which has been and SHOULD BE the penalty for coming to the United States illegally. Until we get more politicians in D.C. in BOTH parties who understand that, nothing of significance will be done about illegal immigration.
You sir are a IDIOT.
I agree with him. They are Americans.
NO amnesty, NO path to citizenship, NO work visa, NO increase in legal immigration, NO drivers license, NO in state tuition, NO government assistance programs. Just say NO to illegal immigration. Secure our borders, enforce current immigration law, not the executive order version, pursue, capture, incarcerate and deport ALL illegal aliens. All immigration should stop until we have an employment rate of 4% or less. On a separate issue: we should stop all foreign aid programs until we have met all financial obligations at home, to include a balanced budget and a balance of zero on the national debt.
does a bank robber EARN the money by robbing the bank..?
How??????
idiot,they are illegal invaders
The illegals have earned the right to go back, we will be fine without them. To many persons in the US think that we will die without the illegals…well, we have a lot of American citizens that will take those jobs in a minute.
no they don’t have the right to be citizens.
no they haven’t.
They have no rights.. What a picture,, They are given rights that we have paid for.. They have no right to Americans money.. They need to make their own way through life not on the backs of Americans..
