This past Friday DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson stated at the United States Conference of Mayors that the approximately 11 million people who are in the country illegally have “earned the right to be citizens.”
“An earned path to citizenship for those currently present in this country is a matter of, in my view, homeland security to encourage people to come out from the shadows,” said Johnson.
“It is also, frankly, in my judgment, a matter of who we are as Americans,” he said, “to offer the opportunity to those who want to be citizens, who’ve earned the right to be citizens, who are present in this country–many of whom came here as children–to have the opportunity that we all have to try to become American citizens.”
So the Dept of Homeland ‘Security’ doesn’t want to ‘secure’ our borders, surprised?
Speaking at the United States Conference of Mayors on Friday, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said the approximately 11 million people who are in the country illegally have “earned the right to be citizens.”
“An earned path to citizenship for those currently present in this country is a matter of, in my view, homeland security to encourage people to come out from the shadows,” said Johnson, in what he remarked was one of his first public speeches since being confirmed as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) chief in December.
Here’s an obvious question: How exactly did illegal immigrants “earn” their right to be citizens? Their first act on American soil was breaking the law and they have continued to break the law every moment they’ve been here. Many of them broke the law again by faking a Social Security number. Many of them either didn’t pay taxes at all or lied on their taxes to get earned income tax credits they didn’t deserve. They go to emergency rooms and get “free” health care they don’t pay for; their kids go to schools they don’t pay taxes on; they collect welfare and food stamps to give to kids who should have never been in our country either; they take jobs that would have otherwise gone to American citizens while they drive down wages — but, they deserve citizenship?
What illegal aliens actually DESERVE is deportation, which has been and SHOULD BE the penalty for coming to the United States illegally. Until we get more politicians in D.C. in BOTH parties who understand that, nothing of significance will be done about illegal immigration.
who puts these people in charge of anything? What an IDIOT!
What planet did he come from?? Doesn’t he read the news about terrorists crossing the borders of our nation? What’s the point of having DHS if they aren’t going to enforce the current laws on the books? Oh, that’s right they don’t, do they??
Hang this SOB for trason
you do not earn your citizenship, you apply for your citizenship
hell no they have not
Illegal is now legal, legal is now illegal
Wrong
Mr. Johnson, you are full of $#%&!@*. If by breaking the law they have earned the right to be citizens then you might as well let everyone who has broken the law and are in orison out. Same thing. So if I break the law I should get some kind of special privilege Like a permanent get out of jail free card. That’s what you want to give all the ILLEGAL Aliens. A get out of jail or not get deported. What about all of us law abiding citizens, shouldn’t we get something special for not breaking the law? How about 1 million dollars each with no taxes to pay on it. You’re going to be setting a precedence here that are going to make everyone think they can break the law and get away with it. I say round them all up and send them back to wherever they came from and then follow the law if they want to come back.
Well $#%&!@*, like you said….that’s YOUR view. no one elses.
Any person for illegals, is guilty of harming every working American, and should be given life in prison !
