Dems Planned All Along to Exclude Republican Involvement in Impeachment

It’s being called the “Pelosi Pre-Planned, Lawfare-Assisted Impeachment Plan” by some in conservative circles and its effects are both mind-numbing and spine-tingling.  In essence, the efforts being put forward by the House committees, particularly the Judiciary and the Intel Committees, are specifically and specially designed to push forth the creation of Articles of Impeachment without a full House floor vote ever being initiated.  How, you may ask, can the Articles be advanced if there is not a consensus on the floor of the House of Representatives?

Lawfare, a group of non-government affiliated Democratic strategists with a deep understanding of the ins and outs of the federal legal system, have been tapped by Nancy Pelosi, Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff to help them craft a plan that is foolproof in pushing forward these Articles of Impeachment without ever having to involve the Republicans at all!  So far, the push is succeeding.

Nancy Pelosi announced the authorization of an “official impeachment inquiry” being initiated.  This is key because it does a number of things at once.  One, it allows the entire far-Left Progressive base of the Democrat Party to believe that an impeachment process is in the works, even when, officially, it is not.  Calling this an “official impeachment inquiry” gives them the illusion that impeachment is in the works “officially.”  This enables many of the far-Left Progressive members to go back home to their constituents and assure them that impeachment is under way.  Two, it allows the Moderate members of the caucus who were elected in very Red districts that Donald Trump won in the election to go back home to their Republican constituents and feign ignorance, “No, I never voted on impeachment, so it’s not really happening.  That’s just a formality and I’ve not even agreed to it.”  Done and done!

There is one more important piece of the plan that this announcement satisfies.  When Pelosi made her announcement, fully aware that she was going to be calling for a recess for the members, she knew that many on the Right would be questioning why, if Trump was in fact as she stated an “existential threat to democracy,” they were going on recess.  Wasn’t this more important to our democracy?  She knew that this would be the question.  Making this announcement will allow the members in charge of committees to then craft Articles of Impeachment, collating all information from the Mueller report, the emoluments clause from 2016 when they believed that Trump was in violation of that Act (having written a bill to prevent it) and the new Whistlegate report about the Ukraine phone call.  At the end of the day, all of this will have been done without a single discussion, word, or conference with the Republican members of the House caucus.  A call for a full House vote would have precipitated the involvement of the Republicans in key debates about this process.

Pelosi having done so in this Lawfare-assisted fashion and in this specific chronological order, has managed to circumvent the laws and rules that govern the very devastating mechanism of impeachment and boiled it down to a simple majority “mob rule” operation…a Mafioso shakedown, so to say…where the Democrats can effectively put forward Articles of Impeachment without a single word spoken by the opposition in Congress!

Chairman Nadler (Judiciary) almost certainly already has his Obstruction articles assembled using prior testimony, depositions and relying heavily on the Mueller report.

However, Chairmen Schiff, Cummings and Engel will be more urgently assembling the Corruption articles based on the purposefully constructed Trump-Ukraine whistleblower leak and subsequent document production. Hence, the depositions during the break.

The Democrats are going to act fast. Remember, by design Speaker Pelosi has this set up so that Republicans don’t even participate in the impeachment process. There are no republicans participating in the assembly of the articles of impeachment. Stunningly, and as an outcome of those earlier rule changes, there is no minority voice in this process.

When the 116th congress returns from their break on October 15th, 2019, the Articles of Impeachment will have already been assembled

The articles of impeachment will then be voted out of each committee; and after a significant dramatic pause for maximum political value, Speaker Pelosi will present days of House debate on them.

The media will construct television sets to broadcast the house impeachment debates, and the Democrat candidates will use this time to spotlight their angelic policies and anti-corruption agenda. Big Dollar Democrats will bring in their activist groups from around the nation to celebrate the impeachment of President Trump.

Then, once Pelosi is certain the maximum political benefit has been achieved, she will announce the date for the Full House Vote on Articles of Impeachment. We can be certain the date will be filled with maximum drama and made-for-tv effect complete with Speaker Pelosi bringing back the big gavel for a grand presentation and a full house vote.

As always, it’s about math. The current House breakdown is 235 Democrats, 199 Republicans, and one independent: Rep. Justin Amash, I-Mich. To pass anything in the House, 218 yeas are needed.

That means Democrats can only lose 17 votes from their side and still have enough to pass an article of impeachment. Amash has endorsed impeachment, so let’s say the magic number is actually 16. If the president is to be impeached, that means Democrats could have 15 of their own voting for articles of impeachment while representing a district which Trump carried in 2016.

This is what we have come to and it has been in the works since before our president was even sworn in on Inauguration Day 2017.  The move all along has been impeachment, regardless of how it will affect the party’s integrity or standing.  An impeachment will most definitely result in their loss of the majority in the House, but at this point, do they really care?  If they are willing to thwart 300 years of tradition, history and profound planning by our Founders, what is a bit of local, modern drama but business as usual in the Swamp?

This should send warning signals to Libertarians, Tea Party members and Republican and conservative voters the nation over.  It seems inconceivable that Hillary and her Resistance would feel so entitled as to believe that this is HER government, confined to bend to HER will.  It is even more inconceivable that there are those Americans out there who are still so willing to do HER bidding.  A chance to kill two birds with one impeachment stone is right up HER alley, however.  If they can impeach the Oval Office Orange Ogre while at the same time avenge her husband losing his law license and the pair being publicly shamed and totally humiliated for his impeachment by the Republicans, then this is a total and complete victory for HER…America law and government jurisprudence be damned.

A scorched earth policy is so much more satisfying to this lot than a “peaceful transfer of power.”  The Resistance is at full strength and they are not ever going to back down to the Right.  If this is successful, and it’s looking more and more like it will be, this changes politics for every future Republican presidential candidate.  If this happens, mark my words, every single Republican candidate who wins the presidency from this moment on, will be treated to exactly these same tactics, only to much more deadly and destructive effect.

Everything has changed.
