Dianne Feinstein of California is the ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Her review of Gorsuch’s early rulings found no signs of him moderating from the conservative originalist school of jurisprudence, a sentiment she shared with Politico.

She was referring to former Justice Antonin Scalia who died last year and whose seat Gorsuch filled. In each of the rulings, she found Gorsuch was consistently conservative.

Also whining was Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut. He feels Gorsuch’s early decisions aren’t in keeping with the evenhanded approach he emphasized in his March confirmation hearings.
In a way, I’m surprised that he hasn’t demonstrated more independence. I am surprised because in his demeanor and his tone he really made a huge effort to show his openness — which some of us thought might be more an act than it was a real persona. So far, I have to say, I’m disappointed.”
In expressing his disappointment, Blumenthal used the example of the travel ban ruling, which makes no sense since that decision was unanimous, with the court’s liberal justices joining in.
On the travel ban, I think he’s fulfilling the worst expectations so far of his opponents and probably the best hopes of his supporters,”
Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island demonstrated he’s still the leader of the Michael Moore wing of the Democrat Party, calling Gorsuch “the tool of the creepy billionaire coalition.”
Across the aisle, Republicans were delighted, with Ted Cruz of Texas noting Gorsuch was “exactly what we hoped for and expected.”
The appointment of Gorsuch didn’t change the makeup of the court because he’s a conservative filling a conservative’s seat. Why would Democrats expect anything else?
The real issue will come with President Trump’s next appointment, should an older justice such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg or Anthony Kennedy leave the court.
Having seen the type of justice President Trump will appoint, Democrats will pull out all the stops to put up a fierce fight to keep another conservative from joining the court and changing its balance.

The single most important reason we needed Trump to win, to appoint someone to the supreme court. He hit a home run with Gorsuch, if he can appoint 1 more he’ll have hit a grand slam. He could get impeached tomorow & it will still have been a victory that’s how big the appointment of Gorsuch was.
