Governor Bobby Jindal ruffled Democratic feathers at a press conference following Monday’s Governors’ meeting with the President. Naturally, the President claimed the meeting was harmonious, but Jindal’s comments and the reactions from Democratic governors suggest the meeting was not as peaceful as Obama likes to imagine.
Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal lashed out first, saying if Obama were serious about growing the economy he would approve the Keystone XL pipeline project and take other executive actions.
Instead, Jindal said, Obama “seems to be waving the white flag of surrender” on the economy by focusing on raising the federal minimum wage to $10.10, up from $7.25. “The Obama economy is now the minimum wage economy. I think we can do better than that,” Jindal said.
Jindal’s statements were the kind that Republicans often make on television appearances or at partisan events. But his colleagues had been instead expressing wide agreement and appreciation for the president’s time. Some of the governors began shaking their heads, and Hawaii Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie began audibly mumbling to others around him even as Jindal was speaking.

minimum wage ? $10.10 c / hour? are you f**king kidding?? the last time I earned 10 bucks an hour (minimum wage in Australia) was 20 years ago , hell I don’t get out of bed for under $19 / hour
then go back to bed then, or go back to australia.
And a year after the pipeline is built it will provide 30 full time jobs. THAT is not building the economy.
Craig you need to redo you math. It will work over 1000 full time people and it will bring the cost of fuel down so more people can hire. come on the man is nuts and you know it. Good luck God bless.
You need to re-evaluate your reply…
the pipe line will need thousands of people to build and all the jobs that will come after its built, I work in the oil and gas fields, think!! over 90 million out of work and over 50 million on food stamps is a good reason to do some thing, I ask why do you people want us Americans out of work?? I ask again why do you communist want us on food stamps
the gov’s and obummer are not getting along how much time do we have as a country,
the kings new clothes sound familiar?
“Freak out”? The article describes several governors shaking their heads, and one audibly mumbling. This is what passes for freaking out these days?
hahaha Jindal rips King O Bummer a new ass!!
Thin skinned lil $#%&!@*!
Jindals’ comments were nothing to gasp at but he was confident to speak his mind and maybe that takes some stones with todays white house but the slug that came after him must have been neutered along time ago. It seems he is a governor with a long arm that fits perfectly into Obamas’ pocket. The more time spent there the better Obama likes it.
