Tucker brought Dem. Congresswoman Erica Thomas from Georgia to ask her what the actual consequences of the legislation she supports that would confiscate semi-automatic weapons from law-abiding citizens. What transpires is a lesson in liberal lunacy.
Here’s what you get from a liberal gun-grabber like Thomas:
She claims to not be talking about “taking the guns from law-abiding citizens, I’m talking about a ban on assault rifles. We are not trying to promote a militia. What war are we going at that we need assault rifles?”
Continuing:
He [Carlson] quotes the bill she supported, which states, “The Georgia Bureau of Investigation shall seize and take possession of any assault weapon, large capacity magazine, armor piercing bullet or incendiary fifty caliber bullet. He asks how that confiscation will be received by hundreds of thousands of law-abiding gun owners in her state. She immediately does the Democrat shuffle, refusing repeatedly to answer the question.
She instead attacks the relevance of the Second Amendment. Tucker brings her back to her support of a bill to seize firearms despite her claims that she’s opposed to gun confiscation. He also challenges her hypocrisy in targeting the relatively small percentage of deaths from semi-automatic rifles rather than the much larger numbers from handguns.
She then makes the claim, after denying she’s confiscating, that those same rifles be given to the military and if people want to shoot them they can enlist.
There are several reasons that Thomas has trouble supporting the anti-gun agenda as articulated by the left as well as her bill.
First off, she doesn’t come across with a coherent message because she apparently has not been able to come up with one, or to get one created by others who are more articulate that she could then use as her own.
Her other problem is that what she and her liberal compatriots desire is at variance with their public statements. They can talk about safer schools, getting guns out of the hand of dangerous lunatics and criminals, and similar goals. The problem is they desire the confiscation of private firearms from all Americans
Maybe they would allow some Americans to own pump shotguns for hunting, maybe not. What is for certain is that the scope of their desired gun confiscation is far beyond even what they admit to in public.
The gun-grabbers’ agenda is disingenuous, their statements lies, and their real goals insidious and dangerous.
They must be exposed and exposed relentlessly.
