The American people have made it abundantly clear that they want the system of government envisioned by the Founding Fathers, but the country remains mired in the practices that characterize our modern, statist government.
Originally, the United States was intended to uphold individualist values, as evidenced by the repeated references to the rights of citizens to, among other things, freedom of speech, religion, and self-defense in the constitution. The idea was that by building upon this blueprint, we would be able to work towards a perfect understanding of liberty.
Today, however, nothing could be further from the truth: the power of government, which is expressly circumscribed in the country’s founding documents, is virtually unrestrained. Regulation is out of control and law enforcement is able to behave as it sees fit. Fortunately, it seems that many are finally fed up with this authoritarian state of affairs.

New Orleans just activated their cameras!!
Murfreesboro is the worst. The lights Chang to kick so that can give more tickets. Just another way to get more money. Shut them down
In Sherwood,Oregon the cameras are both stills and video and clear enough to count the hair on your face. You are sent a summons with a link to the camera “evidence “When you go to court to fight it
Thats about time..
Yes they are
The argument for your example has to do with insurance issues. I am mot for anarchy and at a minimum cost benefit needs to underline any regulations we have. There is a cost to automated enforcement the cost in dollars paid, cost in taking longer to get places the stress to never make a mistake because something is watching. Does it increase safety to make up for all of that. Cutting people off and tailgating are far more dangerous and might be more effective for safety.
Joe Creaney Yes. With insurance, one has the choice: Insurance companies, for example, will lower the price if one does not smoke and is of reasonable weight. I have been checking on car insurance, and see that if I get safety and anti-theft devices, the cost will be lower for insurance. But whether I do or not harms no other person – it only affects me. Same with helmets.
We always knew that get the dumb$#%&!@*politicians to see it seems they are to STUPID
Does this mean you have the constitutional right to speed thru a red light murdering a pedestrian and drive off? I think the intersection cameras have a purpose and I believe it was MADD that got them passed.
It’s a proven fact that they are and when I in Chicago they got their asses in a BIG crack over that. An investigation proved that at every intersection where cameras were installed the yellows were shortened by several seconds. They also had “ghost cameras”: speed cameras set up in “public park” areas – when instead of a park there was a graveyard on both sides of the street.
