Gun owners have to be extra careful these days to avoid not only incurring the wrath of overzealous law enforcement but playing into the hands of the anti-gun crowd as well.
Case in point is Guo Shou, a Queens man who was taken into police custody after authorities exercised a warrant to search his apartment and found a massive arsenal in it. What they found was enough weapons and ammo to “take on a small army”, per Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.
Among his inventory were 14 legally-obtained handguns, 2 licensed and loaded shotguns, 1 licensed rifle and around 45,000 rounds of ammo for any number of weapons. He was also found to be in possession of parts that could be assembled into an AR-10 or AR-15 assault rifle as well as several pieces of Kevlar body armor.
While all of Shou’s equipment was legally acquired, police claimed that he failed to store it properly, thus necessitating his arrest.

How much is too much? I wasn’t aware there was a minimum or maximum requirement.
In all fairness, storing large amounts of black powder in an apartment building is probably not very safe.
Bigger crimes committed every minute in this sewer.
Bullcrap. There is no law that states how much ammo I can have. Wonder where they came up with this c**p. All they could arrest him on was “improper storage”. They had to make that up to justify their$#%&!@*Tactics. But then again, its New York. California is as bad. Would not visit New York even if it was the last place on earth. Earthquakes in Nevada will eventually sink California into the Pacific Ocean.
An unarmed citizen is a defenseless citizen and can be forced to comply with the government/dictators demands.
If I was his lawyer I would be like “I object!” you can never have too much ammo….
Nope no such a thing
Improperly stored gunpowder and ammo in an apartment building is a tragedy waiting to happen. When your personal rights infringe on the safety and the rights of others, limits do exist.
What about the rights of this guy’s neighbors? They have a right NOT to live in a building that will go up like a bomb if a spark drops in the wrong place!
Cynthia Schletzbaum Gee please do some research. Ammo doesn’t pose any risk without the gun. Powder comes in a sealed container it’s not unsafe unless you go out of your way to make it unsafe. Cigarettes cause more fires every year than any kind of ammo/gunpowder but nobody is breaking down smoker’s doors and arresting them for the good of the people. It’s an agenda…
