Gun owners have to be extra careful these days to avoid not only incurring the wrath of overzealous law enforcement but playing into the hands of the anti-gun crowd as well.
Case in point is Guo Shou, a Queens man who was taken into police custody after authorities exercised a warrant to search his apartment and found a massive arsenal in it. What they found was enough weapons and ammo to “take on a small army”, per Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.
Among his inventory were 14 legally-obtained handguns, 2 licensed and loaded shotguns, 1 licensed rifle and around 45,000 rounds of ammo for any number of weapons. He was also found to be in possession of parts that could be assembled into an AR-10 or AR-15 assault rifle as well as several pieces of Kevlar body armor.
While all of Shou’s equipment was legally acquired, police claimed that he failed to store it properly, thus necessitating his arrest.

Your an idiot. They should of never entered his apartment.
i am under the belief that he also had 125 lbs of black powder stored incorrectly in his apartment . i love gun and want them available for whomever wants them. but the black powder may mess up his court case , violating state and local law. but whatever , no need to talk about that.
Allen Waters i believe it was 225lbs of powder lol
but also heard 125 so who knows
Most of his guns were legal, but you can’t get a permit for 225 lbs of gunpowder. This publication conveniently leaves that bit out!
The legal limit for storing gunpowder in a residence, such as this guys one bedroom apartment, is 50 lbs.
You are defending dangerous hoarding of explosives in a tightly populated residential area. Personally? I agree it’s reckless endangerment.
I love the people defending storing 225 lbs of gunpowder in a one bedroom apartment. They fail to realize their, “If he was doing it right it was completely safe!” defense isn’t worth$#%&!@*when you’re not supposed to store more than 50 lbs in a residence. A fraction of that going up could take down the whole damn building.
First our Guns, now Obama wants to take our huge stashes of gunpowder!?!?
The second amendment guarantees me my right to ignore legal and firearm industry approved standards for storage of highly flammable materials!
He had 225 lbs of gunpowder in his one bedroom apartment.
That goes from, “The general public doesn’t like this.” to, “The general public is understandably concerned about this.”
Even the firearm industry recommends following federal standards and not storing more than 50lbs of gunpowder in a residence. Particularly not a one bedroom apartment like in this case. He very easily could have set that whole damn building on fire.

So says the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute.
You read the inventory provided by this publication. They hilariously leave out the most dangerous part of his stash: the 225 lbs of gunpowder he was storing in his one room apartment. I guess it wouldn’t have gone well with the narrative that he was arrested mainly for the guns. One of the guns was unlicensed, and you can’t GET a license to store over 50lbs of explosive material in a residence. Because most people agree that’s idiotic and dangerous, particularly when you live in a densely populated apartment bloc.
Is it Obama’s fault I can’t store more than 50 lbs of gunpowder in a one room apartment? 🙁 The Bastard!
I wanted to hoard 225 lbs like this hero!
Joan, quit being a sheep. This publication fails to mention the real reason he was arrested, which is that he had an illegal ammo press and, as I’ve said, 225 lbs of gunpowder. He was endangering his entire block by keeping that much flammable material in one place. He was a menace and I’m glad they caught him before his black market b******t got somebody hurt or families put on the street.
