Gun owners have to be extra careful these days to avoid not only incurring the wrath of overzealous law enforcement but playing into the hands of the anti-gun crowd as well.
Case in point is Guo Shou, a Queens man who was taken into police custody after authorities exercised a warrant to search his apartment and found a massive arsenal in it. What they found was enough weapons and ammo to “take on a small army”, per Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.
Among his inventory were 14 legally-obtained handguns, 2 licensed and loaded shotguns, 1 licensed rifle and around 45,000 rounds of ammo for any number of weapons. He was also found to be in possession of parts that could be assembled into an AR-10 or AR-15 assault rifle as well as several pieces of Kevlar body armor.
While all of Shou’s equipment was legally acquired, police claimed that he failed to store it properly, thus necessitating his arrest.

If this story is true, what we are witnessing is big brother going off the deep end here,,,all they had to do was write him a citation that would force him to secure the weapons and ammunition…..but noooooooo!he did not commit a crime,no evidence of intending to commit a crime, his only crime was not securing the arsenal properly……..my advice to gun owners is to not share any information to anyone about what you may own…
Perhaps we don’t have the whole story. this guy wasn’t a citizen, he was an immigrant, and in addition to the weapons, powder, and ammo he had body armor and automatic weapons parts. For all we know, he could have been planning a terrorist attack, and the police are keeping quiet about that for good reason.
well Cynthia,you may be right about that….but still give me a break…it N.Y.C. …and I am a true believer in our 2nd Amendment rights….
This is NOT an arsenal! But if anyone wonders why people need this kind of armament, just look at cases like this! The only way to keep the government in check is to make to too dangerous
So am I, but the right to keep and bear arms doesn’t give anyone the right to store an eighth of a ton of gunpowder in an apartment building, nor does it give civilians the right to amass military weapons. Our founding fathers wanted civilians to be able to carry guns, not turn their homes into fortresses armed with cannons.
Allen Waters He had 225 pounds of gunpowder, and body armor and assault weapons parts, and he wasn’r even a US citizen.

And the moral of the story – if you live in a socialist city, like new york, you have no rights. Laws don’t apply, only the law dispensed by corrupt politicians and crooked cops!
you guys…. wake up … this has been debunked … the dude had abt 250 pounds of unsecured gun powder as well as 7000 rounds + of unsecured ammo. What is it about BOOM you don’t understand or exploding ammo from heat being a danger to firemen, 1st responders and fellow tenants …. Geesh 🙁
How much ammo is to much ammo? I like going out target shooting and I like good deals on ammo. My name ain’t Barnie and I’m not going to resteact myself to just one round. The problem with this country is just as much spiritual as it is political. Ponder this, is there a cure for stupidity? To much ammo,,, my fin$#%&!@*
