Gun owners have to be extra careful these days to avoid not only incurring the wrath of overzealous law enforcement but playing into the hands of the anti-gun crowd as well.
Case in point is Guo Shou, a Queens man who was taken into police custody after authorities exercised a warrant to search his apartment and found a massive arsenal in it. What they found was enough weapons and ammo to “take on a small army”, per Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.
Among his inventory were 14 legally-obtained handguns, 2 licensed and loaded shotguns, 1 licensed rifle and around 45,000 rounds of ammo for any number of weapons. He was also found to be in possession of parts that could be assembled into an AR-10 or AR-15 assault rifle as well as several pieces of Kevlar body armor.
While all of Shou’s equipment was legally acquired, police claimed that he failed to store it properly, thus necessitating his arrest.

I believe This is just the start – getting by with this just lets the government to continue violating the Constition.
The cops broke into the guys apartment and stole his stuff by claiming he could do harm with it. Far too much imagination and not enough justification for the police attack on a citizen.
Trial by jury!
Good.
This is not an unknown issue and is a valid crime that goes back to our founding. When deciding Heller vs. DC Justice Scalia asked whether there was any precedence to limit firearms by cities. In fact the Boston Fire Code of (1790?) limited the quantity of gunpowder and where it could be stored in a home. The problem here is like obscenity, I can’t define it but know it when I see it, no one has placed a defined limit on ammunittion storage. The firearms themselves present no hazard. If anything he should be charged with a fire code violation.
What are the Storage Requirements by Law. BS
Having gunpowder improperly stored is a FIRE HAZARD, just like having an apartment full of paint soaked rags, and both are illegal.
I’m all for 2nd amendment rights – I own guns and I hunt – but you crazy gun nuts are willing to excuse ANYTHING as long as your right to do whatever the hell you please with your firearms isn’t limited. let me tell you something – YOUR right to bear arms STOPS when you bear them irresponsibly and put other people’s lives in danger by your CARELESSNESS – storing powder improperly is just as bad as going to a shooting range and waving your gun around in other people’s faces instead of keeping it pointed away from other shooters. If you can’t use/store your guns safely, YOU FORFEIT YOUR RIGHT TO HAVE THEM.
