Watch this video as a man, Andre Stockett, defends his rights at a routine traffic stop and police try everything they can to make him yield, even threatening to take their 2 week old baby to Child Protective Services, because he refused to show his ID.
Yes, this man could have shown his ID and perhaps avoided all the hooplah, but one should never be scared or to defend their rights, especially if they feel they might subject themselves to more of the same abuse if they do.
The incident happened in Sandusky, Ohio.
no no no no!!!!!!!!!!
that is SOO MESSED UP! On more than just “legalities’ OMG!
it would be interesting to see how this panned out
horrible imposition on innocent people!
That’s the popo
Sounds like CHP Officer Chris mcpherson
The officer told him right when he walked up to the car that he matched a description on a warrant they had, he asked for his id to verify who he was. Instead of showing him the id he wanted to argue that he wasn’t him. Listen to it. The he proceeds to make a big scene with NO regards to the 2 week old in the back seat. He even tried to use the infant as a shield to get out of doing what he was asked. Why do people have to argue just do as asked and move on. People like that is why officers are being harder on people.
People like that are not the problem. Stop re-directing blame. What about the innocent people who are beat? Blanket statements are ignorant. Officers are being harder because many of them are uneducated thugs who are power hungry, and had no where else to turn after high school or college. They’re taught not to trust any citizen. You think that’s a good thing?
I cant imagine the pressure those cops face.
I agree, Chris, but that comes with the territory. This man may have been in the wrong, but this one instance doesn’t translate into the thousands of other situations that happen on a daily basis which are not justifiable.
