The cop actually admitted to verbally abusing the driver because he dared exercise his Constitutional rights.
“This kind of misconduct and behavior is not acceptable. This is what happens when you exercise your Constitutional Rights as a law abiding American citizen.” he stated.

Illinois has a “stop and identify” statute, effectively nullifying the 4th Amendment Right to refuse to produce ID unless being charged with a crime.
Yes, these cops were WAY out of hand, but, in this case, in this state, they were factually correct.
too many cops today have taken their authority beyond legal means. These are the ones giving the good guys a bad name.
