The Cop and the Duct Taped Shoes

To this black cop, this teenagers life mattered enough to make a special trip to the shoe store and buy him a new pair of shoes.  It had nothing to do with race, but everything to do with good will and the human race.

Goldman kept his gesture to himself. But another shopper who saw the shoe exchange took a photo and wrote about the incident on Facebook, where it’s scored lots of community and social media attention.

“Special shout out to Hueytown Police Officer Goldman,” wrote Angela Roach Scory, the shopper who witnessed the good deed. “Everyone at Food Giant this morning [when he brought the shoes to the teen] was in tears,” she wrote. “Way to go Office Goldman!!!!” she added.

The young man who received the gift of new shoes desired to remain anonymous, but told the Fox 5 , “I just want to thank him, I shook his hand and everything, but I just want to thank him for what he did.”

Goldman doesn’t want to be thought of as a hero — but if anything comes from the publicity, he hopes it’s that people see the good side of law enforcement officials, in the wake of so much bad news about shady cops who don’t care about the public they serve.

“I hope people take from it that the police aren’t really bad,” Goldman said. “We’ve been getting such a bad rap in the news. We’re human beings with families and kids and loved ones.”

I can guarantee that the likes of Beyoncé would never have taken a moments notice of this teen.  Nor would anyone from Black Lives Matter gone out of their way to fill his immediate need.  They would have blamed society and the white man, but not have helped out in anyway.  Just like Beyoncé did at the Superbowl.

Beyoncé’s “strong political statement,” as the Daily Mail called it, is nothing short of thinly veiled anti-cop rhetoric. Its nothing new for Beyoncé, but that makes it no less disgusting, and this woman was asked to present on America’s biggest night.  The accompanying music video for the song even vilifies American cops by victimizing black youth, then, to top off the spectacle of bad taste, submerges a cop car.

Nobility is taught and officer Goldman depicts nobility.  Beyonce, the supporters of Black Lives Matter and the Black Panthers, all had terrible upbringings as there is nothing noble to be found in their lives and their causes.
