Fox News has finally reported that Connecticut has sent out gun confiscation letters.
The letters tell gun owners of now-illegal assault weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines to relinquish the arms to the police or make them permanently inoperable.
Hundreds of thousands of residents have yet to comply with the new law, which they were required to do by Jan. 1st of this year – turning them all into felons overnight.
What your next move Connecticut?
Connecticut officials are urging owners of now-illegal assault weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines to relinquish them to the police or make them permanently inoperable. The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection announced Friday it had sent a letter to owners who had failed to register the items by a Jan. 1 deadline, part of last year’s gun control law. Officials offered advice on what to do now with the weapons and magazines.
The letter says gun owners are in compliance with the new state law if their items are no longer in Connecticut or were sold to an authorized gun dealer.
Those who fail to comply face charges of possessing an unregistered assault weapon and/or high capacity magazine.
Commissioner Dora Schriro denied rumors DESPP is confiscating weapons.

People must stop speaking to their narrative.”Assault Weapons”. Guns are not assault weapons until someone decides they are. Read the definition of both assault and weapon. Assault is a decided action. Guns can not perform that task. Weapons are any instrument used in such a decided task. I am offended by someone calling guns weapons. Stop speaking to their narrative. ” Assault Weapons?” Not yet.
The Constitution State, Huh????
There’s a record of the “assualt weapon” when it’s purchased and the gun shops are required to make those records available to the government on demand. Looks like the Tories (British) won in Connecticut. .
just wrong
Pup says:
“Exactly. How did they know how had them but had not yet registered them? Are they using some secret (illegal?) database? Are they guessing? How do they know? And then, how can they prove they people didn’t sell them or give them to a friend out of state? THIS is why the anti’s want “100% background checks” – because that would require 100% registration to work, and 100% registration can eventually mean 100% confiscation, which IS their objective, no matter what they say. Any cop attempting to confiscate a firearm from a peaceful citizen should say his prayers before he leaves his family…”

It’s about unregistered guns. In other words a scare tactic! If it’s not registered then they don’t know where the hell the guns are!
Check it out America stand up and be counted this is the USA?

“How they know is the paperwork you fill out at time of purchase is on file at the gun store for 20 years. The ATF has serial numbers to every firearm in the country due to manufacturer and dealer recording wgat, where and when. Suppose to be destroyed by the feds but isn’t. So basically all the stores gave them up. Who else would have the serial number? Incremental erosion of the Constitution. Compliance is surrender.”
