One of the bedrocks of America’s freedoms is the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which protects citizens from “unreasonable searches and seizures.”
In order for government agents to enter private premises, they must produce a court ordered warrant stating the purpose of the search and its probable cause. This process prevents unwarranted intrusions that would attempt to gather potential evidence illegally.
As part of the Bill of Rights, the Fourth Amendment ensures that the government will respect a citizen’s right to be “secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects.” As a result, people can rest easy in knowing that no prosecution against them can use evidence illegally obtained without a warrant.
Since the terrorist events of September 11, 2001, the government has been looking for more ways to monitor people to uncover suspected terror plots and prevent them. On the next page, learn how a new law passed for the Washington D.C. area now circumvents the protections of the Fourth Amendment.
Needs to be countered as UNCONSTITUTIONAL!
NWO….
Oh, but it’s ok for the left yo do this, like the governor of Organ that just took the 2nd admenment away from her state which is a violation of the constitution. I don’t hear any democrats objecting on this at all Why?
Mot good Trump follow the constitution and law.
Can’t be..
I’m not a fan of no knock warrants and now this is even worse. People will die because of this! It happens to often the police would go to the wrong house on no knock warrants and deadly shot outs occur with law abiding citizens and now you want to allow warrantless invations. No, this is against or constitutional rights!
That’s illegal
This is limited to Virginia, Maryland and DC…The text gives the Commission the authority to enter property near the Metro Rail System “without limitation” and without a warrant, for the purpose of “making inspections, investigations, examinations, and testing.”
Wouldn’t be the 1st time that there was an “illegal” law, the 4th amendment prohibits this. Look for a bunch of people to get released and sue one day when SCOTUS tosses this$#%&!@*out.
Not good. Slippery slope
