Although it is important that we question everything we read, it is just as important that we do not let the government control what we read.
Thanks to unprecedented advances in technology, people are able to access information at rates and levels that would have been unimaginable even a couple decades ago. We can store information that would have taken entire libraries to fill in times past on devices no bigger than our hands today, and transmit it faster than anyone could have dreamed of. This has made it possible for ordinary people to not just find news, but disseminate it as well.
The downside of this is that since everybody can share news, anybody can, leading to misleading and even outright false stories spreading. Even worse, this gives the busybodies in Washington a pretext to exert their control over alternative media.

F**e news is probably the biggest threat to our nation: http://www.fortliberty.org/hoax-sites.html
But f**e news can be so funny of you are not weak minded or paranoid.
Michael Dalton Sadly, too many people are ill-equipped for the task of discriminating truth from fiction. The internet advertising model has made it profitable to peddle in conspiracy theories and such. Way too many people lack the critical thinking skills to cope with the modern internet age. Confirmation bias makes it so easy to add this f**e news into an already bewildering pile of falsehoods that seems to be the foundation of some people’s reality.
The funniest part of f**e news is that the consumers get that f**e news on a device that should allow them to research and find the truth, but the lie is more appealing to their sense of victimization. I guess loosers want to be told they are even bigger loosers than they thought.
Big brother definitely will be watching, libtards are getting what they want, they won’t like what they got, but now it’s to late.
So it wasn’t Pres.Obama, it was Congress who I served it into the funding bill. Go Republicans.
Sorry but Congress did sign this into law. It is the Congress’ doing.
Sharon Bonney – can you name the date it was signed by Congress – just curious since all other sources say it was only introduced last spring, and has yet to be voted on in either the House or Senate. Is this another of obama’s executive orders rather than going through Congress?? Just asking since I’ve searched various sources and cannot find the information you have….. thanks. 🙂
Fire all Congress for stealing. Lying.
