When Congress passed the Intelligence Authorization Act for 2015, it granted the executive branch not only the ability to spy on American citizens private communications, but also the legal authority to turn that information over to local law enforcement.
All of this can be done without any court order being granted, all in the name of ‘fighting terror’, of course.
MOVE TO PAGE 2:
Brian, please tell me that you aren’t buying into this post?
This website is garbage… here is the actual text from the bill…
“(Sec. 309) Requires each element of the intelligence community to adopt Attorney General-approved procedures for any intelligence collection activity not otherwise authorized by court order or subpoena that is reasonably anticipated to result in the acquisition of nonpublic telephone or electronic communications to or from a U.S. person, including communications in electronic storage, without the consent of a person who is a party to the communication.”
That is not the same as authorizing wiretaps or interception of private communication.
When you sacrifice liberty for security, you shall have neither.
Why not, Obama gets blamed for literally everything lol it’s Trumps turn lol
There must be a couple different ones floating around. I read the other day one was bound to international calls. The thing is, they are still looking to jump on international switch boards. Everything they touch slows down. They’re data hogs that have no respect for humanity and expect civilians to pay more? Lol
Chris Bissman Obama has to own his messes, trump as president doesn’t have any yet, lmao
Alright Obama this one is for you
Derek Smith: Agree. Now, what is the agenda to stop the invasion of our privacy? Please do not say that we should vote to remove our Senators and Congress. That is lame and ineffective. We need a targeted approach.
A total reset to the the original constitution. Allowing for strides in rights and freedoms to remain and remove all laws that restrict freedom or privacy. Cut the pay to our representatives and executive branch. You serve you go home and go back to work. And most importantly allow for individual representation. There are needs for security no one is denying that. But liberty should never be secondary to security. I would rather die free. The most immediate thing we could do to protect our privacy is stop using the internet. Social security, government issued ID’s, credit cards banks and all other forms of digital transfers. We have allowed ourselves to be registered by our government. What did people think was going to happen?
Yeah…..if you fly planes into buildings that ends up killing people so that you can pull the ” patriot act” and start the NSA….I’m going to call b******t….the privacy act will soon no longer exist
