The issue of “faithless electors,” those who choose to vote in the Electoral College for someone other than the person to whom they are pledged as a result of the people’s vote, has surfaced again. This has been prompted largely by Hillary’s victory in the nationwide popular vote while losing the Electoral College, which actually elects the president, to Donald Trump.
There’s even one elector in Colorado who is attempting to launch a drive to deny Trump his victory.
It’s probably also being pursued as a reaction on the part of the more radical elements of the Democratic party to the devastating loss Hillary suffered at the polls. They cannot accept the result, so they behave in stupid, disruptive ways. At least this bunch isn’t rioting.
More on this issue and what’s up in Colorado on page two.
Freekin A …. stop this c**p already!! Trump WON. Deal with it, just like we had to when Obama was elected
They can just refuse their pay and position. Someone else will gladly do their job!
Colorado went to hillary…so if they want to be faithless electors in Colorado, that means they want to vote for trump
Replace him !!
She didn’t win the popular vote. This is all a lye
Electors Better do their job…
More like betray America a.k a traitor.
Traitors to the voters
Trying their best to destroy the electorate.
I looked it up and apparently each party selects their own electors. So in Wisconsin for example which has 10 electoral votes, the dems select their own 10 electors and the repubs select their 10 electors (20 electors total). Then if the repubs win, it’s their electors that then vote for the president which is why you typically never see an elector going against the people (and some states have laws to prevent it as well). So I guess the only question would be, how many republican electors were in the Never-Trumpers camp. Basically it’s a useless system. It requires an extra step in the process that’s completely unnecessary. Everyone already knows who won and how many electoral votes each candidate should receive. As I said, this just opens the door for more corruption and it’s completely unnecessary.
