CNN’s Zakaria: Trump is Attacking ‘Educated People Like Us’

CNN’s Fareed Zakaria has quite the ego. This week, he accused Donald Trump of leading a “class rebellion” against people such as himself — educated cosmopolitans.

“The election of Donald Trump is really a kind of a class rebellion against people like us, educated professionals who live in cities who have cosmopolitan views about a lot of things,” Zakaria said on CNN’s “New Day,” previewing an upcoming special report about why Trump won the presidency.

Zakaria also highlighted the “cultural alienation” that white men without a college degree felt as a driving force behind Trump’s election.

“The sense that their country’s changing because of immigrants, because maybe blacks are rising up to a central place in society, because of gays being afforded equal rights, because of, frankly, a lot of working women,” Zakaria said.

This hilariously out-of-touch quote shows why CNN is in so much trouble. The network’s hosts think they’re simply more important and more educated than the rest of the country — so they think they’re allowed to talk down to their viewers.

Instead, their viewers have been fleeing to other sources for news.
