Donald Trump is not one to back down. Neither is he one to play with words, or massage statements to make them seem more genteel. He is the opposite from political-correctness, and much of his base loves him for that. It also makes for some interesting and entertaining viewing on television news programs.
CNN has been a frequent target of President Trump, with his referring to the network as “fake news.” But what impact has that had on Mr. Trump’s standing as well as matters at CNN?
CNN President Jeff Zucker declared on Thursday that President Donald Trump’s comments about the channel being fake news are a “badge of honor” and that aggressive coverage of the new administration has boosted employee morale.
As Zucker was talking over a lunch with reporters at Porter House in the Time Warner Center in New York, Trump was hosting a fiery press conference featuring a memorable back-and-forth with CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta, who tried to ask a question about the president’s attacks on CNN.
This can be expected, as Zucker in no way would wish to reveal that President Trump was having any negative impact on his network. On the other hand, there might be some truth in his statements. Clearly, President Trump has no intention of backing down, but perhaps CNN is a beneficiary of the conflict as well.
But both Trump and Acosta seemed to be enjoying the jousting, pointing to one of the odder patterns to emerge from the early days of Trump’s administration: the president engaging in all-out war with the media and both sides seeming energized by it — and, perhaps, benefiting from it.
…
In his back-and-forth with Trump, Acosta declared “just for the record, we don’t hate you,” while a twinkle-eyed Trump asked Acosta whether he was related to his pick for labor secretary, Alexander Acosta.
It would seem that President Trump is good for business when it comes to the news networks.
In fact, the presidential campaign and the first few weeks of the Trump administration have proven to be a boon to the bottom line for CNN and its competition. In many respects, Trump’s vitriol toward the media and the tough coverage of his administration reinforce themselves, driving coverage forward.
President Trump ran on the platform of strengthening businesses and creating jobs. He may not have had the media in mind, but he has been good for them when it comes to their bottom lines.

Hopefully the Presidents attacks on CNN (the very lying media.) Will have to close your doors. We’ve been Bull Shited long enough. Trump will make America Great Again without your lies.
