Veteran Tyler Truitt has been told by the city of Huntsville, Alabama that they can no longer live in their off-the-grid home because their trailer is not hooked up to the city’s utilities system, making it ‘unsafe’.
The 27-year-old and his girlfriend are living completely independent of city utilities – utilizing solar panels and catching rainwater on their 2 acre property.
Huntsville officials have filed suit against Truitt and told him he will be arrested for trespassing should he set foot on his property.

In San Antonio you can have all the solar panels ya want. But,
the city takes your power you made and then gives you a credit. So when the power goes out so does yours.

Couldn’t he simply hook up to city power, and just not use it, or you such a very small amount that he would be off of their radar? Just a thought. I would love to be able to live a self-sufficient lifestyle myself

The Alabama National Guard should become a citizens militia and stand with him to keep local government from tressp$#%&!@*ing upon this man’s land.
