Veteran Tyler Truitt has been told by the city of Huntsville, Alabama that they can no longer live in their off-the-grid home because their trailer is not hooked up to the city’s utilities system, making it ‘unsafe’.
The 27-year-old and his girlfriend are living completely independent of city utilities – utilizing solar panels and catching rainwater on their 2 acre property.
Huntsville officials have filed suit against Truitt and told him he will be arrested for trespassing should he set foot on his property.

I support living off the grid what is wrong with the zero carbon footprint wasn’t that the goal ? Hypocrites.
Outhouses can be quite sanitary, Becky. Many people had them when I was growing up and nobody ever sufferex anything because of them except cold seats in winter and spider webs and the occasional wasp in summer.
Bs leave him be….
And here the want us to be more green, but only if it puts money in their pockets
They are mad because they can’t get money from this man. I’m trying to find ways to make it when our grids are blown by terrorists because the government doesn’t watch them. I think we all need to find ways to live off of the land in case of national emergencies
Yes I know that outhouses can be ok, I was just pointing out that it seems that this is part of the reasons the city is giving. If there are deed restrictions, which seems to be the case then if he got a septic system put in he would still be in compliance, but still be living off the grid also.
Wtg great glad your off the grid more power to you my friend
They should go after the illegals in Alabama worry about them and leave him alone
