New satellite imagery has shown that China may have started construction on a new aircraft carrier. This would be their second one, in addition to refurbished Soviet-era flattop they finished sea trials with last year. When the construction is finished, it’ll be China’s first carrier made in their country. But images leaked from The National Interest shows that it doesn’t look very much like a carrier at all, which is to be expected, considering that China doesn’t have the experience or skill to make anything like modern U.S. carriers. Perhaps this is why they’re so interested in hacking American intelligence.

UCAVs are also overrated, particularly for the air superiority role. The communications lag means a slower decision loop in combat decisions, which degrades effectiveness. In addition, they are quite subject to jamming/EMP.
Most carriers in the world are ski jump V/STOL carriers. I think only the US, France, and UK use catapults
If the role is to project force in the South China Sea, they are less dependent on UNREP and other systems for sustained operations. They don’t require 10-20 days to reach station.
BTW, the Japanese had diesel carriers in WWII with primitive UNREP capability as well. Look at how far they projected- they hit Sri Lanka
Which could make them very dangerous it is SOP for socialist/progressive/communist governments to start a foriegn war to distract from domestic failures.
I’m guessing their Zerg rush tactics would make for a good way to reduce their population.
Originally designed for skateboarders…
What if there just launching unmanned drones with it…. Wouldn’t need to be nearly as big as normal carrier….
Looks to me like something out of Thomas the locomotive book, I think I can… I think I can….
I think I remember the Japanese taking off from their carriers with no thoughts of returning, how did that work out Ramon??
Tom, in case you have forgotten, they lost. You like losing?
