New satellite imagery has shown that China may have started construction on a new aircraft carrier. This would be their second one, in addition to refurbished Soviet-era flattop they finished sea trials with last year. When the construction is finished, it’ll be China’s first carrier made in their country. But images leaked from The National Interest shows that it doesn’t look very much like a carrier at all, which is to be expected, considering that China doesn’t have the experience or skill to make anything like modern U.S. carriers. Perhaps this is why they’re so interested in hacking American intelligence.

The carrier they have now is nowhere near the capabilities of a nimitz-class carrier.
No Michael, China. Google it
No, just the one unfinished Russian carrier seen in the picture.
Are you serious, it’s one thing to be able to build a carrier but to be able to operate it and use it efficiently is another thing which they have no experience in
Plus, it’s one thing to be able to build a carrier but to be able to operate it and use it efficiently is another thing which they have no experience in.
Probably fall apart the first time they use it.
I agree with Thom, don’t underestimate your competition. I served on a carrier USS Ranger, the USN has been in the carrier business since 1922 & is very good at what they do. Russia (former USSR) & China are stumped with doing vert-rep & un-rep. Which is supplying the carrier with supplies & fuel out at sea. USN has mastered the Launch & recovery which cannot be mastered over night.
China has the money to buy whatever they want. Who do you think is backing north korea and russia?
If we had better cyber security, China would have its J-31 fighter (we all know they stole the schematics, it’s a damn clone of the F-35). If we aren’t smarter than this, they’ll catch up to our technology.
This is a British aircraft carrier notice how small it is and it too has a ramp. It was built to launch the Harrier jump jet. Don’t fall for misinformation on the Internet. There’s a lot of it out there and it’s hard to discern truth from not truth. Be informed it’s the best way to debunk all the bs.
