5. Larry Craig

Larry Craig was  Republican U.S. Senator from Idaho who was caught attempting to solicit “improper relations” by tapping his foot in the men’s restroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport. Craig had stumbled into an undercover police investigation into complaints of sexual activity in the restroom. Initially, Senator Craig was charged with suspicion of lewd conduct, he eventually pleaded guilty to the disorderly conduct. Craig’s behavior during questioning probably didn’t help his case. Craig reportedly  handed the interviewing police officer his business card identifying Craig as a U.S. Senator. Craig said to him, “What do you think about that?”

Craig initially announced that he intended to resign from the Senate, but then changed his mind and refused to resign, finishing his term, but effectively ending his political career.
