California Governor Denies Drugs for Terminally Ill

The terminally ill in California just want the right to fight for their lives using any medical treatment and experimental drugs that could help.

AB 159, the California Right to Try Act, passed the state assembly and senate with overwhelming bipartisan support.

Governor Brown has this delusion that the Federal government should have the chance to do this idea first.

“Before authorizing an alternative state pathway, we should give this federal expedited process a chance to work,” Brown wrote.

Meanwhile, the terminally ill will die waiting.

“It’s disappointing that Governor Brown couldn’t see the need to allow Californians the right to fight to save their own lives,” said Assemblyman Ian Calderon (D., Whittier), who sponsored the legislation. “Both Democrats and Republicans wanted this for our California’s terminally ill.”

Ironically, Brown signed the Right to Die legislation a few weeks ago, allowing the terminally ill to stop fighting for life and take an overdose to kill themselves. It does seem that life holds less value for Brown than death.  Does signing this legislation force him to reconsider his previous stroke of the pen?

Meanwhile, the terminally ill must wait for the Feds to get their act together as “the expedited process by the FDA has not yet been put in place”.
