Something must be very wrong in America for our justice system to call people who commit crime victims and people who are victimized by crime criminals.
It sounds ludicrous, but a case out of Portland shows that the courts are amenable to such blatant nonsense. This is what Dunkirk resident David McLaughlin learned almost certainly to his chagrin when he found himself charged and convicted by such a court.
McLaughlin was minding his own business when he discovered that someone had broken into his garage. The intruder, David A. Bailey, had entered McLaughlin’s home with intent to make off with some of his property, as authorities later confirmed.
Doing what anyone would do when they find a potentially-dangerous intruder in their home, McLaughlin grabbed his gun and fixed it on Bailey. Realizing his mistake, Bailey attempted to flee the scene, but not before McLaughlin shot him in the arm.
Despite clearly being in the wrong, Bailey thinks he’s the victim. So much so, that he has taken McLaughlin to court for shooting him!

I like the way you put that
Just curious you are referring to socialism right?
Warning to all who would break in…if you are dead you can’t sue!!!
Should have killed him
Their being thrown out the window , now I don’t agree at all with the case but what’s really sad, are these comments they put stories out just to p**s ppl off and get ppl roughed up to fight and argue, but more importantly they wanna know what ppl think it all reflects on our 2nd amendment, ppl are talking crazy on here and they wonder why they say take away the guns
It’s prob not stop and think for a minute, they always put out stories to p**s ppl off to see how they react to them, it’s sad because they use us against ourselves, and all these comments theirs not one that I found where somebody says, maybe he shouldn’t have shot first or maybe the guy was unarmed and was just a common thief, many factors in the situation but see how fast ppl react to these stories they jump at the opportunity to to come on here and be proud to take another life like its no big deal, that’s what I don’t understand what has happened to compassion for another human being in this country
What if he’s just a common thief and means you no harm? What if he is unarmed?
Robbins Virginia He’s in my space with no permission right there he intruding on me which is harmful
He should have shot him immediately before he could run. I still think allowing this guy to try and do anything about it sends a bad message. Next thing you know burglars will be suing people because they wasted their time by not having anything worth stealing. This the world owes me because I won’t do for myself bs has to stop somewhere. I think the judge telling this$#%&!@*to get a job would be a great start.
Lucky it wasnt ke or he would be dead
